Aston Paki Maui (3
stars)
Sitting between West Maui’s Kaanapali and Kapalua resort communities, the
Aston Paki Maui offers four stories of quietude, away from the bustle of the
either community, yet still being within easy driving times of both. All units
offer a lanai-patio or balcony-and a view of either the resort’s garden or
the Pacific Ocean. Having ceiling fans instead of air conditioning, the rooms
emphasize the tropical atmosphere of the islands.
Swimming is available on the property in the resort’s pool, along with a
hot tub for lounging in. Nearby under an open-air shelter, you can grill
steaks on one of two barbecue grills, and eat at four picnic tables. The beach
is also available for swimming, including an area sheltered by coral reefs for
snorkeling and paddling.
Lahaina, Kaanapali, and Kapalua are near enough to the Paki
Maui for quick access to their
daytime and nighttime offerings, whether it be golfing, horseback riding, and
kayaking, or shopping, dining, and dancing. Or stay indoors and lounge on the
balcony in the hotel-provided bathrobes watching cable television while eating
food prepared in the room’s kitchenette.
