 More Information:
Kayaking Photo HawaiiEnjoy a day of kayaking in beautiful Kailua Bay. Kailua (Lanikai) Beach is rated one of the best beaches in America, and it's an excellent destination for fun recreational activities like kayaking and snorkeling. The calm, clear, sparkling waters, colorful marine life, and stunning views of Kailua Bay and the Koolau mountains make kayaking tours here a memorable experience.

The twin Mokulua isles are just a mile and half away from Kailua Beach Park and they're just one reason why Kailua Bay is so special. The islands are actually protected bird sanctuaries for several endangered bird species. The Mokulua's are made up of two islands, Moku Iki on the left, Moku Nui on the right. At the back of the island is Shark's Cove, a favorite spot (5ft. - 75ft. cliff jump!). You can snorkle and explore up to depths of 25 feet.

We offer both single (9'5" or 11'5") and double kayaks (12'5"), includes backrests for more comfort, paddle leashes, life jackets, and dry bag for your camera or other water sensitive items. We use the best kayaks made by "Perception" all boats are self-bailing and very easy to handle. Excellent for the novice and still fun for an experienced ocean kayaker wanting to ride waves.

Diamond Head Crater:

The 19th-century British sailors who came here were fooled by this crater's calcite crystals, thought they were diamonds and named the crater Diamond Head.

Hawaiians once used the 761-foot summit as a platform to light navigational fires to direct canoes offshore. The military built an observation station on the summit in 1910 to spot ships off the southeastern coast of Oahu.

The crater and tuff cone were formed by violent steam explosions 300,000 years ago. Today Diamond Head is recognized as a National Natural Landmark.

Arizona Memorial

The USS Arizona is the final resting place for many of the ship's 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. The 184-foot-long Memorial structure spanning the mid-portion of the sunken battleship consists of three main sections: the entry and assembly rooms; a central area designed for ceremonies and general observation; and the shrine room, where the names of those killed on the Arizona are engraved on the marble wall.

Haunama Bay

[Hanauma Bay]

Hanauma Bay Nature Park is one of the more popular recreational swimming, snorkeling and picnicing areas on O`ahu. The bay itself is legally designated as a State Underwater Park and Conservation District. The bay is the result of the ocean's breaching and incursion into two volcano craters. This most beautiful of places is ideal - if you are a new SCUBA diver or snorkeler; and - just for swimming. There are hiking trails with very pretty vistas and the park areas have good picnicing sites.

 Pali Lookout

The Nuuanu Pali Lookout ("Cool Height Cliff") overlooking the 985 foot cliffs of the Koolau Mountain Range, is one of the best views on O'ahu. It was here in 1795 that King Kamehameha and his warriors defeated the O'ahu armies by sending them over these steep, forested cliffs and claiming his victory and uniting the Hawaiian Islands. The breathtaking sight and the gruesome history of the battle fought here is enough to cause a chill to run up your spine. Add to that the incredible winds that often pass through the Pali and you may be swept off your feet!
From this vantage point you can see Kaneohe Bay, Chinaman's Hat, and Hawaii Pacific's Windward Campus.

Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach

Sunset Beach Park is one of the better surfing sites on O'ahu, if not in the world. During the Winter fifteen to twenty foot waves are not uncommon - there are also large Summer swells. When becalmed the ocean is great for swimming and snorkeling. Be very careful of the "Sunset Rip" - newcomers to this beach should check out where this and other hazards are with the beach's lifeguards. (It runs off the inshore reef about midway between Val's Reef and "Kammie Land.")

When calm in the Summer, the beach has clear waters and crystal white sand, and wonderful tidepools on the point -- just great for swimming, snorkeling, collecting shells and tide pooling.

Ehukai Beach

[EHUKAI BEACH]

When you think of Ehukai Beach Park, the Banzai Pipeline comes to mind. This beautiful tubed surfing break got its name in the late 1950s when Bruce Brown, a famous surf cinematographer, shouted out "Banzai" while narrating the film "Surf Surfari" as a surfer dropped in on a particularly vicious wave.

When it's "cranking," the surf, besides being the most spectacular in the world, can also be the most dangerous. The waves are steep and powerful and can come up within seconds. They also break furiously on the shallow reef - the cause of many broken bones and lacerations. This beach has some of the best sandbar type surf on O`ahu . During calmer periods, usually during the Spring and Summer
