Outrigger Napili Shores (3 stars)

With “Hawaiiana” as the central motif of the resort, the designers of the 99 guest units of the Outrigger Napili Shores in Lahaina, Maui Hawaii did everything they could to reflect the impression and lifestyle of Hawaii. Light-colored island-style furniture combine with ceiling fans to better express the tropical ambience of Hawaii, while dining tables indoors and on each unit’s lanai or balcony offer guests the opportunity to take advantage of the island’s mild weather. Despite the devotion to the calm quietude of yesteryear, each room also offers cable television, modem/data port hookups, and coffee/tea makers.

The Napili Shores Resort grounds offer numerous diversions, including beach access for sea bathers, a swimming pool, a hot tub, a courtyard and garden, a koi pond, gas ad charcoal grills, and picnic tables. There’s also shuffleboard, croquet, and outdoor checkers for those looking for relaxing, leisurely activities.

For those desirous of leaving the resort and exploring Maui, there are golf courses and the Kapalua Golf Academy in close proximity, and two large tennis complexes close at hand. Beach paraphernalia are available beachside, and scuba diving, kayaking, and snorkeling tours can be booked at the resort’s tour-and-activity desk. Beyond that, Kapalua, Kaanapali, and Lahaina, Maui Hawaii are close at hand for other outdoor activities, shopping, dining, and nightlife.
